{live an inspired life}

I'm always so inspired by people who are able to achieve their dreams, large or small. There is one common theme among this group of people: They are able to look at an impossible situation and make it possible through a positive outlook and purposefully planning.

Teach For America {a program that recruits high-achieving college graduates to teach in a high risk environment for two years} has created a framework for setting, achieving, and continuously improving goals and plans. The plan has five steps which I have adapted for general purposes:

1. Set big goals
2. Invest in your goal and those around you
3. Plan purposefully to achieve your dreams and plans
4. Executive effectively and adjust when needed
5. Work continuously to overcome challenges

I taught a Kindergarten class of 25 students in the lowest income school in Charlotte, NC using this framework and my students saw incredible results. I have also applied this to different areas of my life: career, finances, personal fitness and health goals. It really works... give it a go and turn your dreams into plans!

We are all surrounded by problems in our lives. Whether it be poor health, financial struggles, a failing relationship or difficult job, problems have a way of consuming our thoughts and ultimately keep us from becoming the person Christ created us to be.

James 1:2-4 reads, "Consider it pure joy my brothers, whenever you face problems of any kind, because you know the testing of your faith produces perseverance, let perseverance finish its work so that you may be pure and complete."

Focusing on our dreams and the great joy that will come from going through trials. I encourage you today to give your problems to the Lord, and let him show you how to live the life he meant you to live.
